University pond
University pond is one of the representative landscapes at Xitou. It is situated in the education area, and is an artificial pond. It covers approximately half-a-hectare, and was used to soak wood to remove any foreign substances or insects and to prevent the wood from drying and cracking. It is now purely used as a scenic pond. There is a bamboo arch bridge over the pond, and visitors often come here to take pictures.
Mid-air corridor
A mid-air walkway 22.6m above the ground (equivalent to 7 stories high), and approximately 180m in length. Viewing the tree crowns from up high give you a totally different outdoor experience.
Forest music castle
This used to be the gathering point for the wood after been delivered from the cableway, and was renovated into an outdoor forest courtyard after being ravaged by typhoons. The dreamlike castle surrounded by mountain, cloud and mist makes you feel like you are in a castle in a faraway land.
